This project involves the demolition of three existing structures (a house and two sheds) and the closure of two entrances on Kilbride Road (L-6179).
The core of the development is a new residential scheme of 666 units, comprising:
578 houses (100 x 2-bed, 317 x 3-bed, 161 x 4-bed)
88 apartments/duplexes (24 x 1-bed, 51 x 2-bed, 13 x 3-bed)
A local centre (c. 2,335 sq.m) will also be built, featuring:
A creche (c. 1,095 sq.m)
Three community/medical units (c. 450 sq.m)
Three retail units (c. 790 sq.m)
Building heights will range from one to five stories. The development includes new streets, pedestrian/cycle links, and open spaces/parks. A significant addition is a public boardwalk/bridge for pedestrians and cyclists across Arklow Town Marsh and the Avoca River, utilising existing flood relief scheme columns.
The plan also covers all associated site works, infrastructure, drainage, parking, landscaping, and public utility connections. This development forms part of the designated Kilbride Action Area Plan AAP3.
