Construction of a €46 million headquarters and training camp for the Army Ranger Wing at the Curragh Camp in Co Kildare, is set to begin later this year.
The first phase of the project will involve development of a new headquarters building, followed by the development of specifically designed training and operational facilities.
The project will be in line with recommendations from the Commission on Defence Forces.
Further phases of the build will see the delivery of accommodation facilities, a gymnasium and office space.
The development is part of a series of capital investments at the Defence Forces HQ and the Army Ranger Wing construction is due to be completed in 2027.
