Conservation Led Restoration and Upgrading to Ashe Memorial Hall. The proposed works include for the following:

a. Provision of roof garden with glazed circulation area including lift and stairs access including solar PV panels;

b. Adaptation of existing mansard roof attic space in to a new museum space with central rooflight overhead;

c. Conservation led restoration and upgrading including restoration of existing original windows throughout building, consolidation and repointing of stonework, roof restoration and conservation of existing railings

d. Improvement of accessibility of the building including addition of universally accessible toilets including a ‘changing places’ toilet, addition of an external accessible ramp at the front of the building and alteration of existing window to provide new access to front northern elevation

e. And ancillary works to facilitate energy upgrade/retrofitting, improvements to the public realm and ancillary works to accommodate the above schedule of works.

The proposed development will consist of the carrying out of works to a protected structure which is located within an architectural conservation area and would materially affect the character of this structure.
