Plans to convert an abandoned town hall in North Cork to a new theatre will go to tender in the coming weeks.
Up to €7m will be allocated for the project as part of a wider town revival scheme – aiming to transform the almost 100-year-old building, which has lain idle since 2011, into a thriving theatre and arts centre. Under new plans, part of the property would be replaced and the rest of the building would be refurbished. Extensions would be added to its west and south sides.
