The bridges are scheduled to be completed by mid-2025, while the event centre faces further delays as the project has to be re-tendered.
The construction of two bespoke pedestrian and cycle Bridges in the vicinity of Crosse’s Green and French’s Quay in Cork City Centre and repair to existing quay wall on French’s Quay
The Scope of Works includes but is not limited to, the following:
-Construction of two bespoke single span steel Pedestrian and Cycle Bridges, with an approximate span of 30m each;
-Earthworks associated with Reinforced Concrete piled Abutments;
-Fabrication and installation of Steel superstructure and associated parapets and other ancillary features;
-Installation of architectural lighting systems;
-Working in, around and over watercourses;
-Urban Realm Improvement Works;
-Various works including diversions of the assets of Authorities, Utilities, Service Providers and Private Utility Services;
-Various Ancillary Works
-Traffic, pedestrian & cyclist Management in an Urban Environment.
– Repair to approximately 100m of existing quay wall including grouting, repointing and devegetation as well as devegetation to approximately 260m of the remaining quay wall within the works area
