Permission for a ten year planning permission for a renewable energy development comprising the construction of a solar farm of 44.4ha and related works in the townlands of Hooks, Pembrokestown, Richfield (Reclaimed), Inish and Ballyteigue Slob, Riesk, Yoletown, and Kilcowan Lower. The proposed development will consist of:
a) A 21 MWp solar farm comprising ground mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) panels
b) 7 no. inverter transformer power stations
c) 3 no. spare parts storage containers
d) Provision of a new site access from the northwest of the site
e) Construction of internal cable duct to connect the solar array to the existing Richfield Wind Farm 38kv substation
f) Provision of 2 no. containerised substations adjacent to the existing Richfield Wind Farm substation, a transformer, grid compensation equipment and lighting
g) 2 no. temporary construction compounds
h) All ancillary development such as 2.2m high stock proof post and wire fencing, CCTV and drainage infrastructure. This application is seeking a ten year permission and a 35 year operational period from the date of overall commissioning of the solar farm. This application is accompanied by a Natura Impact Statement (NIS).
