A Local Equipped Area for Play (Leap) totaling approximately 1,000m2 constructed in line with the principles of universal design, to include:
i. A mixture of natural and synthetic surfacing materials which will vary from engineered wood chip to gravel paths and water permeable safety surfacing, as listed on the landscape plan
ii. 6 no. bicycle parking spaces (including 2 no. cargo bike stands) will be included using Sheffield type bicycle stands, to be located adjacent to the gabion walling
iii. Approximately 20 no. pieces of play equipment will be installed within the site boundary
iv. An area for accessible sand play will be included
v. There will be no need for stormwater to leave the site as provision will be made within the site for a wetland area, all runoffs will be directed here in time of extreme weather events
vi. Aquatic plants will be planted on the margins of the wetland
vii. An area of grassland will be maintained as natural meadow
viii. Approximately 10 no. trees will be planted as part of this proposal, and no trees will be removed during construction and all trees in proximity of works will have root protection zones set up during the construction period
ix. A canvas shade structure 3-4m high is proposed in the picnic area
x. Swings and climbing structures are proposed with height not exceeding 4m
xi. A double width accessible embankment slide will be included in the proposal
xii. An accessible trim trail aimed at 3-10 year olds will be provided
xiii. One dedicated disabled car parking space will be located beside the nearest entrance point.
