Refurbishment of the existing hospital (Scott) building 6,026.49 sqm and gate lodge 66.0 sqm. the refurbishment of the Scott hospital building will provide a mental health facility, centre for education and library, hospital on call accommodation and staff administrative accommodation. The gate lodge will provide a public registration department. the development involves demolition of existing temporary buildings and the existing ambulance mast on top of the Scott building. It also involves road improvements, additional car parking and the erection of an ambulance mast on the new tullamore general hospital. The existing (Scott) hospital building is a protected structure (reference 23/322) in the Tullamore town and environs development plan. The proposed development is also within the curtilage of the hospital chapel which is also a protected structure, (reference 23/235)
