PROTECTED STRUCTURE:EXPP: The proposed works the subject to this Section 5 application consist of the material alteration of part of the first and second floors within part of the original building and part of the modern building to provide administrative accommodation which is ancillary to the main educational use of the building. The proposed material alteration works include:- 1) The removal of existing modern lightweight partitions 2) The removal of the existing carpet floor finish 3) The upgrade of the existing first and second floor within the protected structure to achieve one hour fire rating. 4) Any defective floor joist ends will be cut back and new treated timber members will be spliced in to replace the defective members. 5) The upgrade of the electrical installation and fire detection and alarm system to meet current standards using existing service routes to preserve the protected structure 6) The upgrade of the existing heating system using existing service routes to preserve the protected structure 7) Reinstatement of the existing timber floor finishes in accordance with best conservation practice. 8) The construction of new office partitions in lightweight glass material. 9) The construction of new plasterboard partitions 10) The provision of new carpet / vinyl floor finishes 11) Replacing existing modern doors with fir rated to comply with fire safety certificate. 12) The provision of new loose furniture.
