The proposed two-phase development located at the north-west corner of the existing IE08 pharmaceutical manufacturing and production building will consist of; demolition of an existing external staircase, internal modifications to the existing IE08 production building and the construction of a new 5 storey extension (including mezzanine floor). The proposed extension will be a non-production administration and support infrastructure facility. It will include:
1) rooms to accommodate electrical, IT and automation infrastructure to service the existing production building and the proposed extension.
2) New Administration facilities including staff changing areas, WC facilities, canteen and office areas, new entrance lobby, stairs and lift,
3) mechanical and electrical plant, including rooftop plant,
4) external works including revisions to the internal vehicle roadways and pedestrian access ways and all associated site development, drainage, landscaping and ancillary works.
The development will be located on a site that currently operates under an Industrial Emissions (IE) License No. P0009-04 under Part IV of the Environmental Protection Agency Act 1992 (as amended for the Protection of the Environment Act 2003). The new development is on a site to which the Chemicals Act (Control of Major Accident Hazards Involving Dangerous Substances) Regulations 2015 (S.I.209 of 2015) applies.
