Weir repairs and the replacement of the damaged walkway. The works shall consist of the construction of a new steel walkway approximately 180m long to replace the existing structure that was badly damaged as the result of flooding. As part of the works the remainder of the existing walkway will be demolished and removed off site. Masonry repairs shall be made to the original weir structure and the existing weir boards will be replaced with new tilting weirs to improve the safety of their operation. An environmental impact statement (eis) and a natura impact statement (nis) have also been prepared in respect of the proposed works and submitted with the application.
