Construction of a new single storey stand-alone dining hall pavilion building with an area of 894 square metres to accommodate 250 diners. The building is raised on a suspended ground floor set on mini-piles above the existing ground and small pond and arranged around a new internal entrance courtyard which is formed around the existing trees. The roof is an exposed laminated timber lattice roof structure, with natural wood clad walls and glazed doors. The accommodation includes appropriate dining areas, servery areas, seating space, circulation areas, restrooms, kitchen, bin stores, stage area, external dining area and all related ancillary services and site works, all on an estate of approximately 210 hectares. Barretstown Castle is a National Monument RMP KD 024-029.
