Permission for the development on a 1.24 Ha site on an overall campus of approximately 16.95 ha, located at Cork University Hospital, Wilton, Cork. The development will comprise the demolition of the existing Adult Mental Health Building (2,067 sq m) and the construction of a 3 No. storey Radiation Oncology centre (8,840 sp m total gross floorspace) and the continued use of an existing pedestrian link connecting the proposed building to the PET CT building to the south. The development will also consist of the following works; reconfiguration of an existing public car-park to the northeast of the proposed building (including the reduction in car parking spaces from 83 No. to 81 No.) and its extension to provide an additional 24 No. carparking spaces (resulting in a net increase of 22 No. spaces at this car park); the provision of 3 No. accessible car spaces to the east of the proposed building; the relocation of an existing parking pay station; alterations to the existing access/egress

Enabling works to include demolition of single storey, part two storey Adult Mental Health building, approximately 2,000 square metres, disconnection and removal of general building mechanical and electrical services, disconnection, removal and/or diversion of site services including medium voltage, gas, fibre, telephone, water services, construction of car park extension including surface water drainage and petrol inteceptor, retaining walls and generator compound, construction of foul drains and manholes and a temporary road access to the Emergency Department, disconnection and removal of two electrical generators and an oil tank and provision and installation of a new generator and oil tank at Cork University Hospital. The Works will be carried out on active hospital campus. Hospital activities will remain in uninterrupted operation at all times during the Works. The contractor will be required to engage a Specialist Medium Voltage contractor to undertake alterations to the existing hospital medium voltage installation on the campus.
