The Construction of a combined Pedestrian and Cycle Bridge and Associated Civil Engineering Works in the vicinity of Harley’s Street, Cork City, Ireland. Expressions of Interest are sought from suitably experienced civil engineering contractors who can demonstrate experience relevant to the construction of civil engineering works, in particular bridge structures, and who can mobilise sufficient plant and labour resources. The scheme involves the construction of a bespoke pedestrian and cycle bridge spanning the North Channel of the River Lee and associated Public Realm Improvement Works at Merchants Quay and St. Patrick’s Quay, in the vicinity of Harley’s Street, Cork City, Ireland. Candidates shall be capable of undertaking the role of Project Supervisor Construction Stage under the Safety, Health and Welfare (Construction) Regulations 2013 (SI 291/2013). The Prequalification Documents include a Suitability Assessment to allow candidates to demonstrate their competence for this role. Candidates are required to have considerable experience in the construction of similar works and shall have been directly responsible for at least one construction project with a construction value in excess of €2,500,000 (exclusive of VAT) and one individual bridge structure or similar type project with a construction value in excess of €1,500,000 (exclusive of VAT).within 7 years of the publication date of this notice. The Suitability Assessment is issued to allow candidates to demonstrate their relevant experience. In particular, the Candidates shall demonstrate: 1. Experience in the construction of bespoke, pedestrian and cycle bridge structures in urban areas. 2. Experience in the construction of reinforced concrete civil engineering works in urban areas. 3. Experience in the delivery of projects comprising of the construction of High Quality Streetscapes in Urban Environments. 4. Experience in the preparation and implementation of Traffic Management Plans for Local Authority Schemes.
