Permission Sought for 523 New Homes in Castletroy, Limerick

Developers Columbia Estates Management are looking to build 523 new homes in the Limerick city suburb of Castletroy.

The €138 million development seeks to build the apartments on the Monaleen Road.

If approved, construction can begin on 214 2-3-storey residential units, comprising 10 two-beds and 204 three-beds.

Plans see the provision of 309 apartments across 10 apartment blocks, ranging from four to five storeys in height.

These include 159 one-beds, 141 two-beds and nine three-beds.

There will also be a creche at the ground level of one of the apartment buildings, alongside an outdoor play space.

Car parking will be available at surface level with a combination of both in-curtilage and one-street.

Apartment blocks 6 through 9 will have parking in the basement. Plans also see both electric vehicle charge points and bicycle storage.

In addition to the residential dwellings, the site will also host open space areas, residential communal open spaces, as well as private gardens and amenity spaces.

Developers also hope to provide an entrance from the Monaleen Road for vehicles and the Dublin Road for pedestrians.

Columbia Estates Management put forward their application to Limerick County Council in early March this year.
