€60m redevelopment of Dalymount Park goes to tender

Dalymount Park

A €60 millon redevelopment of Dublin’s iconic Dalymount Park has gone to tender.

The football stadium, home to Dublin’s Bohemians FC, will transform into a UEFA Category 3 stadium. It will accommodate 8,039 spectators (6,245 seated and 1,794 standing spaces).

The redevelopment involves the demolition and removal of all existing stadium structures and associated infrastructure, as well as site investigation and testing.

In its wake, the project hopes to deliver a “modern, compliant sporting venue”. This includes spectator stands, player and match official facilities, media and broadcasting infrastructure, hospitality and community spaces, building services installations, and all associated external and site development works.

Dublin City Council (DCC) look to reorient the pitch to a North/South Axis and install a new sand-based grass pitch.

There will be a new basement area to facilitate competition area changing rooms and facilities.

They also look to modernise match-day facilities for both teams and officials.

There will be club offices and a merchandise shop for the Bohs.

There are provisions for a stadium bar and function room as well as concession areas within the stadium.

There will be 12 car parking spaces and 50 bicycle spaces on the site.

Developers wish to provide a community room and gym. On top of that, there will also be a public plaza linking North Circular Road and Connaught Street.

The project is sponsored by DCC’s Community, Culture, Leisure and Area Services (CCLAS) Department and overseen by the Corporate Project Governance Board (CPGB)

Initial submitted plans in 2024 saw the redevelopment of Dalymount Park cost €40 million.

However, in November last year, the council heard that it had risen to €60 million.
